Other forum software?

Post by luckz » March 15th, 2012, 10:01 pm

The theme is great and all, but under that it's still phpBB. And phpBB is plenty horrible.
Please use vBulletin, XenForo or similar.

The thing is phpBB is a free open source software. Which decreases in development cost
VBB is a commerical forum software which is awesome, but requires money.

Considering the low budget of the game and alot of their expenes are out of pocket. It isn't going to be likely.
DC stands for Definitive Console Edition - Directors Cut was a misnomer.
My Silent protest to PC Unfriendly UI changes.

Considering the low $1.3 million USD budget of a game, $200 or so for a forum software seems outlandish. Especially if the forums are to be the primary method of communicating with the fanbase, and communicating with the fanbase is supposed to be an integral part of the game's development.

I like phpBB, and I hate vBB. I have never had problems with phpBB boards, and have had nothing but problems with vBB boards. Why would I want people to use something besides phpBB?
in my opinion

I sure there is no reason to move on any other forum software.

But any light theme/skin could be very useful because this one have overloaded header.

If they are looking to build a fuller featured community for the project they may want to try PHPFox or BuddyPress.
