...despite several threads with open questions, devs don´t seem to post right now.
Sear posted once in this month/ year. Parcatus, Phimseto and Sear a few times in decembre. But that´s nothing in comparision to the amouth of open questions, espacially over at the TormentSubforum!
(on top of that, these three are the only ones that perform common posting; despite this list of dev-accounts: memberlist.php?mode=group)

The transition is probably direct, or indirectly the cause.

Re: Dev-Wise, Forums are pretty dead...
There is a line of thought that developers can spoil a forum by posting too frequently, and they give esteem to those they acknowledge. Also when they do post, it's terribly easy to put one's foot in mouth, and have it etched in stone... so I am not surprised that developers post at a minimum, aside from the community managers.

Re: Dev-Wise, Forums are pretty dead...
phimseto and sear are admins, not developers. The forum rank of "Developer" is not aligned with their job titles at inXile, as far as I know. You would have to look at the list of members who are only Grouped as inXile (not also grouped as Administrators): memberlist.php?sk=c&sd=a&username=&sear ... count=&ip=
And yes, agree with Gizmo that developers have accounts so they can read the forums moreso than interacting with users on a discussion forum.
