How many in Co-op
So will WL3 feature a four player co-op and still collect followers?
That would be interesting to see how live players interact and manage the team. Much like a mini A-Team.

Re: How many in Co-op
(Excepting that there shouldn't be Multiplayer in Fallout...)This is the only kind of Multiplayer suitable to the Fallout games (not that Bethesda would care what was suitable).
If WL3 were intending to be a close unofficial Fallout-like title (like WL2), then I'd hope that the players could also compete, take opposing quests, set traps for the other player in seemingly unexplored areas; and secretly bribe/recruit the other player's (more mercinary) squad members into their own group; or plan for them to switch sides during a fight between the squads. In situations like WL2's Agricultural center—or Highpool... that they should be able to split up, and each take one separately.
Obviously it's WL3, not (a real) FO3, so the ranger squads would normally expect to work in tandem, but it is also a roleplaying game (right?), and so once they leave the HQ... anything could happen, and so potentially the personal differences between the groups could lead to dissent, one-up-manship, or outright betrayal between the squads. (This being simply optional to the players; think: two assigned squads, but one commander doesn't trust the other in a firefight.)

I do like the concept of teams working in tandem and do joint ops for the heavy missions.

This sounds very exciting!!

You face 99 Berserkers,
99 Berserkers,
99 Berserkers,
99 Berserkers.
Does your stalwart band [F]ight or [R]un?

So in theory you could run with Four made characters and three tag alongs.

Re: How many in Co-op
I just gotta ask
can I play a perfect game on my own, or are there situations that require two ranger teams at two locations at once
like say "defend this town" by having a ranger team on both sides
because I don't have friends who want this game, and I doubt I'll ever make any

Re: How many in Co-op
You can split your party at any time like in Wasteland 2. However, you typically won't be required to do that if you don't want to.fuzzyballs01 wrote: ↑September 14th, 2018, 11:38 pmI just gotta ask

Re: How many in Co-op
This reminded me of some old discussion relating to this....
Is it possible (or possibly even intended) that as there can be two players paying their own parties competitively via online component, that one player can also choose to play two parties himself or set an extra one going that's controlled by AI that tries to simulatie another player through randomly choosing actions per locations it visits - or through some behavioral algorithm; possibly chosen by the player (i.e. rival, cooperative, passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive..)?

Re: How many in Co-op
It should be possible (with passed stat checks, and enough money, or incentive), to bribe party members away from other player's teams; especially with the option to stay in the other player's party until called upon.
**And of course... possible for the other player to bribe them back for a triple-cross.

Re: How many in Co-op
How would that make sense as all the rangers belong to the same militia/military organization and even come from the same base? They are not rival gangs.Gizmo wrote: ↑September 17th, 2018, 12:29 pmIt should be possible (with passed stat checks, and enough money, or incentive), to bribe party members away from other player's teams; especially with the option to stay in the other player's party until called upon.

Re: How many in Co-op
It depends upon the [psychological] nature of the ranger(s) that would do it. Have you seen the movie Sixteen Blocks; or Die Hard 2? The wasteland is a violent place, and there are probably some individuals (even rangers) with personal (or just business/practical) grudges against those in their way—and would gladly report in the demise of those they'd like to have disappear out there.

Re: How many in Co-op
The way it could work out is to apply for a transfer—after their previous squad got killed. In these cases we would be talking about the dishonest, who took the job for personal power, and not out of a sense of justice or duty.

Re: How many in Co-op
I'm so curious for co-op but I think my focus will still be on solo play. So many questions like how will item share happen etc.
