More people played Torment than Prey or Mass Effect

Not terribly surprising considering the source. The Codex has a higher than standard percentage of grognards, therefore you're more likely to have a higher percentage of Codex members who would play something like Torment as opposed to something like Prey or Mass Effect Andromeda (which had a whole slew of behind-the-scenes... issues).

I mean, learning that 80% of respondents got black-out drunk last night. Shocking if surveying an entire city, less so if surveying a fraternity.

Frankly, I'm more surprised at Destiny 2 being first than Torment being second. Although, there were a lot of giveaways for Destiny 2. Friend of mine got a free copy for buying a new video card.

When I first read it, I assumed (and still do) that it was an earnest question about an old RPG-Codex account—with the name Bubbles.

There are others here with accounts from there. It's not wholly impossible that it was intended as an inside joke, rather than an insult... for those who would get the name reference; perhaps meaning for you as well—if you had an account there. (Only one person really knows.)

I did not get the reference (I'd never heard of Bubbles), I just saw the name of the poster, and presumed the rest. With no avatar set, one can't really know if it's the same Infinitron from the Codex; but it's not a bad guess, I think.

I imagine that most of the Codex had previously backed Torment already. And Mass Effect: Andromeda has a demo, so there's an explanation for that one too.
