I am playing a mulitplayer game. I am hosting the game with my friend. When the second player has to reload a weapon it locks up. The weapon fires and does the damage to the enemy. The action points are not reduced and the player is unable to continue with the turn. When hitting the reload button nothing is registered. We have tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling. We restarted the game with a new party and the same issue happened as well on the second playthrough.
I started the game as a single player and was able to play with the second players characters and had no issues with the running out of ammunition and being able to reload.
I am looking for a solution to this issue other than not having to remember to reload before the ammunition runs out because this also happens with single shot weapons such as the rocket launcher.

i want to report i've had this issue as well a couple of times, both doing the same as above; the weapon fires, damage is done, but it locks you out from doing literally anything other than dropping and reloading from an earlier save. Its a bit of a pain when you have a good weapon that only has 2 or fewer rounds it can fire but then you constantly run the chance of having to go back to a save just before combat because you don't know if it will break or not, so for now, I will have to stop using the RPG and flamethrowers until it gets sorted.
Hasn't affected me with weapons that have larger magazines yet.

My brother and I also encountered this issue, exactly as described. When the game on the non host player has a gun use it's last bullet/ammo (and needs to be 'reloaded') the game freezes with no work around. If you reload the gun before emptying the magazine you can avoid the issue. So our rocket launcher was rendered (mostly) disabled.
I wanted to add I think we may know the exact patch this was introduced. We played during the daytime on October 27th, 2021 without any issue. We next played the night of October 28th, 2021; and we first encountered this issue. We suspect we hadn't updated the patch released on 10/27/21 when we played that day, but had by our next playthrough.
We strongly suspect the patch released 10/27/21 introduced this issue.
It is a game breaking bug and we've had to put the game down until it can be fixed. Thanks for any assistance!!

Me and a friend are also getting this issue. It first started during the fight in the church in the warrens under the Bizarre. It seems to only happen when the weapon runs out of ammo. We confirmed it happened every time the crossbow and rocket are shot. Upon loading the save file we also had a bug where the the second players created character was no longer visible in their roster.
We tried to go back to version 1.5.0.302092 but the issue persists.

Hi all, when you get a chance (and if you haven't already done so, or haven't done so recently) please review the troubleshooting we offer here in this thread. If the issues persist thereafter, you may need to reload the game in singleplayer and move through a scene transition (travel node to another map) before saving and reloading the game in multiplayer.

I tried this and unfortunately it doesnt solve the problem. It doesnt seem to be a connection issue, rather a bug in the game.
The problem with your solution to play through the scene in singleplayer is, that there is no point to switch back to multiplayer. You can basically switch to singleplayer every encounter and then back, especially when you are using a sniper

I have seen, that a lot of threads in the bugs-section are about this topic, all with the same problem, the same situation. I am a little confused why this is still not fixed after all this time. Dont get me wrong, you guys did a fantastic job on the game and i dont mind there being a few bugs in the game (i mean name one that doesnt). But this such a heavy bug that makes the multiplayer unplayable...it kind of confuses me why nobody fixed this by now...

I also have this exact problem in multiplayer. I thought it was related to using a controller, but these reports seem to indicate it's a multiplayer problem rather than related to that. Would also really appreciate a fix, because it makes the game unplayable without a ton of added frustration.

I am also having this exact issue in multiplayer in the most recent Steam version of the game. In my situation, the non-host player fires a rocket launcher, the damage is done, AP is not consumed, and then that character's actions become locked until the game is restarted.

I can only confirm. Only happened with the rocket launcher, but the empty magazine makes sense. Damage is done, AP is not reduced, stuck after. When we reload the save, an empty extra character portrait is visible for the 2. player, and the game gets stuck again, we have to restart the entire game.
