A question regarding Sneaky Shit

Hey, Wastelanders,

I was wondering if Sneaky Shit and relative perk, Lights Out, only work within the range of awareness of the enemy. In other words, would it be useless on a sniper shooting unaware enemies from long distances?

You mean, when you're close enough for them to start detecting you? No, that's not necessary. You always get the Sneaky Shit damage bonus if you shoot an enemy unawares. I don't remember what Lights Out does, but I presume it's the same.
