Demolition skill & using explosives; Energy wepaons skill

1. Is the use of explosive weapons and items (grenades, pipe bombs, rocket launchers etc) governed by the demolition skill, or is the skill useful only for disarming explosive traps and such?

2. How useful are energy weapons in the Director's Cut version of WL2? I just encountered some robots and high damage assault rifles and sniper rifles didn't seem to deal as much damage as the sole energy weapon my team had. I've read comments that one can get by with normal kinetic energy weapons (i.e. rifles) but that encounter which I described makes me consider obtaining energy weapons for my squad.

Explosive weapons have no skill. They always hit exactly where you aim them.

Which was seen as not good by many - can't say this often enough. ^^

Eh. They exist. They're not amazing, but not crippling either. Personally, I always ran someone with shotgun and energy, and swapped weapons as needed.

One Energyweapon is enough as a mainweapon in the party of 7. Against most early enemies they are next to useless.
