Provost dissappears in Yuma County, and the menu goes missing when Cordite fights the mechanic

Exactly as the title says, provost dissappears when I first stepped into Yuma County. EVEN WORSE is that when the fight begins with the mechanic when cordite is around, the entire hud dissappears during and after the fight. I couldn't use abilities in the fight and the escape button stopped working altogether. I couldn't quit the game manually, had to alt F4 out. Reloading the save brings back the hud, but provost is still gone.
