Livestreams of the retail versions

Post by Serjo » February 25th, 2017, 1:50 pm

Here's a live Polish playthrough of the PS4 version:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9djfdjZkWXI

Will be interesting to see how many foci he's offered when he reaches the clock.

I don't think a lot of people want to get spoiled. This player is still at the start of the game though, so it'll be a few hours before we see anything past the EA version.

I'm watching it mostly to see mechanical changes and to get certainty about a few things. Still heard no orchestral music so far, for instance.

Man, I could never play this on a TV screen. The guy is constantly scrolling down and down and down to read the answers and then back up and up and up to check what the question was.

And he's talked his way out of the Quorro crisis, so we probably won't be seeing combat for a while.

Guy got to the part where you choose your Foci. Seems like there are still only three options...

Seriously though, if we knew after the kickstarter that there would be three, everyone on the forum would have been screaming the feedback "MORE THAN THREE OPTIONS!", "MORE THAN THREE OPTIONS!" But of course the idea was so ludicrous that no one thought to ask or complain...

its not even that. could have be a fixed one like "who is a cast off"

thief, tank, and persuasion are not really ... in any way, interesting -_-
and kinda completely missing the point of what a focus (compared to the class) is

EDIT: thanks for keeping us updated

the problem is they let us think there will be more. Quote from Sear on steam forum : "Foci come into the picture a bit later once you reach Sagus Cliffs proper. Only a few are in the beta, but we'll probably add more over time, and in the final game of course."

And it was a core feature of the game, and part of numenera setting. The 3 available are just plain boring...

It's an interesting decision to use 3 foci. Maybe there are somehow more, but at this point, I kinda doubt it.

I mean, I get that the Foci itself are kinda "dumbed down" in comparison to the more complicated foci in the Numenera core rulebook that gave you in some instances many new skills each tier, but three? Core rulebook got around thirty, and at this point I would be satisfied with dumbed down foci as long as there are more than three.
Still, I am looking forward to the game. But as a fan, player and GM of the Numenera PnP I am a bit worried. A tiny bit.

Couldn't it be, that those 3 are just some kind of base of a tree? Because Tank, Thief and Talker sounds a bit like some kind of base classes. And that later Foci built upon this selection?

I just beat the games in 40 hours good storyline

But lack of environnement 2 big city and 2 or 3 dungeon of 1 or 2 maps
Maybe i miss content i LL see that on m'y second run

The end arrive too fast many big revelation in one time

10 combat and eventualy 4 or 5 that they are part of main story

And there are only the three choice on the screen

I'm on Xbox one and the day one patch IS 7.8 giga

Oh yes not perfect but great Replay value just the end with picture of consequence of choice maybe à little oldies....

I surely miss a lot of thing but I didn't rush i made a lot of side quest

Protip impossible to return backward when you finish a zone so finish all of the quest before

Give me the feeling they rushed the game. They really own us a post mortem with what got wrong with this game. I'll play the game tomorrow, will hopefully enjoy it, but I could stop to feel some deception because will not be the game they sold me during kickstarter. Will remember this and never kickstart another of your game. Just wait the end result!

So now we have our answer Sear & co, before release and isn't from you. You cut the damn foci and you weren't enough honest to announce it!

Thanks Grimskarson for the infos. Can you join factions or is that cut too?

so factions are cut too.

Wasn't you but the devs I was referring rushing the game. What you say, all the cuts, give me the feeling they got out of time/money and released what they have done. They got more money & time and they couldn't release the core game they pitched. Well, the biggest issue is how they hidden the cuts with their silence.
