It does look great and I can't wait to play it but I really hope that the annoying voice (same voice as in the BT4 intro) is only in the video and not in the game. I don't want to think about BT4 when playing this.

Wasn't the Remastered version supposed to be released for Mac and Linux as well? Has this been axed?

I'd imagine that it'd, at most, being in the opening of the games. Not like there was any voice acting in the originals.

I don't want to think about BT4 each time I start the remastered versions.

In case anyone didn't see the video, here it is and it's spectacular. Can't wait!

It does look absolutely brilliant. I'm even thinking about taking my laptop on holiday so I don't have to wait to get my hands on it.
Yeah, if one good thing comes out of all of this, it might be the remasters. That said, there are still plenty of ways that inXile can get Krome to create "tie-ins to BT IV" if they so choose, since they hold the purse strings on this project. I sincerely hope that they leave it alone though.

What more could a Bards Tale fan ask for? ;)
The Bard's Tale sequel that I backed. *sigh*

Keep beating that dead drum... The sequel you backed is the sequel you are getting. But no point in arguing that here, or to keep bringing it up here - there is a BT4 forum for that.

Whatever. I'm going to keep beating the drum - of that you can be sure.

Yeah, that was pretty much my point but I was going for subtlety. Never the less, while I remember BT1 like it was yesterday, I never finished BT2 and only once completed BT3 so those games in particular will feel fresh.

I'm particularly interested to see how often random encounters happen in BT3. It was a real test of endurance on the Amiga where it felt that you could only take 3-4 steps in some dungeons before the next ambush.

Check out some of the response from the only-trailer posts (in my piddly BTO social media circle ;P)

https://www.facebook.com/Bards.Tale.Onl ... 0051370852

https://twitter.com/bardstaleonline/sta ... 6002018304

Compared to posts about BT4, there is HUGE excitement for the classic trilogy remaster.
Granted, BTO has always been a classic trilogy resource, so most if not all of this community are strong fans of the originals - but that also goes to show, there seems to MUCH more excitement for trilogy-style game release than the new sequel game among fans of the classics (at least in my piddly BTO social media circle).

Krome is doing a very wonderful thing. Thank you all, once again, if it hasn't been said enough :)

I am a big fan of the classics, and and am excited about both the classics and bt4. I had a blast playing the bt4 beta.

On my social media feeds I saw many more articles, previews, and play through for bt4 than I have the classics, although I did see a few yesterday. Maybe that will change when the remasters are released.

In any case, I'm looking forward to Tuesday. ... although not looking forward to the inevitable dozens of people complaining about every little thing that was changed in the remasters versus the original. Lol

I have a feeling the complaints will be quite small compared to IV.

Wow, I just watched the video, and that really does look great! I'm impressed. Job well done, Krome!

Ugh, but I wasn't a backer, so I won't get to play it.... sigh.

They will be for sale on steam and gog, too. $15 if I remember correctly.

What are the chances the remasters might do better than IV? XD

I really hope they do. In fact I hope they sell so well that it inspires a fresh generation of games with similar style and game play mechanics, enough to last a life time even.

Will the remasters let me load the first 2 seconds of the Catacombs, then fast forward the cassette tape to the data from Harkyn's Castle, fight one weak wondering creature... and grab some uber weapon/armour before running away?

Yes kids, that's how we used to cheat the system back in the day.

Whhhirrrrrrrrr.... click. Whirrrrrrr.... skkkkrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......
