Seeker's Ballad (Apple II)

Seeker's Ballad (Apple II)

Post by redwinclass » November 27th, 2017, 3:42 am

Does anyone know what Seeker's Ballad (Apple II version) is based on? I heard it on the radio once but could never place it.

I played the Apple II version and the Seeker's Ballad always made me very nervous and edgy. It was a great effect in those days!

I don't know about the Apple II verison, but the C64 version is taken from La Danse Macabre.

Thanks for solving this mystery!

Funny that I did not find La Danse Macabre in this compilation. Mislabelled?

It wouldn't shock me. The Bard's Tale series has a rather erratic history of matching music with song names across the many platforms and game versions.

The 8-bit versions (C-64, Apple II) are indeed based on La Danse Macabre.

The 16-bit versions (Amiga, Apple IIGS, PC) are based on Pavana - The earl of Salisbury by William Byrd.

Seeker's Ballad is also known as Wayland's Watch, featured briefly in the BT4 Combat first look video, as well.

More such mysteries are welcome in BT4, my best regards to the audio-team!
