What day exactly is the remaster coming?
Supposedly the 14th August, according to the end of the YouTube video.

Wasn't the Remastered version supposed to be released for Mac and Linux as well? Has this been axed?
That’s what I’m waiting for too, I just hope it’s coming later, after the Windows users reported all the bugs to improve our first experience ;)

It looks fantastic - great job guys! If it's relatively bug free on release I'm sure it'll be a major success.

I have a couple of questions if anyone has any further info?

1. How will the automap work for things like spinner plates? Or teleportation? I played a fair bit of Silversword on iOS (which is fantastic btw - I recommend checking it out) but one thing I didn't like is you could always find out what direction you were facing by looking at the map. Hopefully you will have to have spells for this still in BT
2. Will you be able to customise what features you want in the game? For example could you select to have automapping enabled, but also ensure you can only save your party at the guild like the original?
3. Why is a Rogue vital for BTIII? Is it just for their range attacks? Tbh I'll probably have one anyway (Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Bard & 3 Mages)

Are people going to go Steam or GOG for release? I much prefer GOG's model, but sometimes they don't get the updates they should, so may stick with Steam

Both. I'll start with Steam with my backers key and then I'll pick up a copy on GOG later on once it is on sale. Best of both worlds this way.

As far as I know, there will be a 'classic' mode implemented at some point but not on release. This mode will be much closer to the original game in terms of saving and probably things like maps. I'm guessing it'll be somewhat customizable.

It's been a long... LONG... time for me, but I believe that a Rogue is pretty much required to beat some enemies (*ahem*) due to his sneak attacks from the shadows.

In BT3 there is exactly one place you HAVE to have a thief. The rest of the game can (technically) be completed without one.

That being said, a thief is a pretty good character in BT3 against bosses, so is good to have in your party anyway. There are 2 bosses that are VERY hard without a thief.

BT3 isn't like BT1 or BT2 where a thief was completely unnecessary.

I believe there's actually supposed to be two bosses in 3 that require the Rogue because the boss pushes you back when you get to 20' away.

Apologies if this has already been answered, but will the BT1 and BT2 remasters let players save anywhere? Or will it be like the originals, requiring the player to return to the guild? (I'm really hoping for a "save anywhere" ability.... Yes, I know you die-hards will shake your heads in disgust, but I simply don't have enough free time these days to play games that require me to traipse back to a save point every time.)

They said earlier this week on Twitter that BT1 would let you save anywhere. I assume that would go for BT2 as well.

There ARE two bosses that do that, but I have been told by multiple players that you can actually defeat both of them without a thief.

I've never tried, though, so can't confirm. I always have a thief in my BT3 party because they are very useful.

Did Krome start over, or did Becky turn over incomplete code to them?

I believe that's a matter of the DOS version being buggy. I seem to recall Sceadu requiring a Rogue in the C64 version.

That would be interesting to learn. From what I recall, the code was Burger's own kept copy.

Pretty sure this remaster is something that was built completely from scratch. That said, I wonder why can't they add the original graphics, they own the game (all versions) right?

I wonder if Krome will rework the Snares in BT2. While that game was HUGE and basically had double the content of BT1, those snares basically made me stop playing BT2 back then. If there is one thing i hate with a passion it is riddles with timed pressure.
