Can we keep the conversation about the remaster in the remaster thread? This is for the emulated re-release.

Is the emulated trilogy still available for download? I had a disk error and lost my installation files. Since the backer portal is back up again I was hoping to see the various BT4 pledge downloads there as well, but I can't find them.

Looks like the rewards page isn't currently accessible. Once it returns, I'm sure they'll be available.

Yes, and hopefully it will be soon! It's been an Odyssey of a process.

So how can I get my emulator again? Since I will have time because of a surgery. Doesn't seem to be anything going to that any more. Just want to play BT3. Its the only one I never finished.

It has to be downloaded via the Backer Portal which is still down.

Another way to get a copy would be to get the 2004 version of The Bard's Tale which should have all three bundled in.

CD version only; it has a stand-alone installer for the first three games; (that's why I bought it). The GoG version has the original games in some kind of an in-menu emulator, accessed only from within the BT 2004. This emulator has no speed control... but it needs it.

*I would expect the Steam version to be the same; with the same problems.

**Also IIRC, the BT2004 is listed as 32-bit only. It will install on, but won't play on 64-bit Windows.

Actually we made the emulators available until the backer portal is updated again. You can get them here:

Incorrect. Steam and Android versions both have the originals.

Re-read the post. It does not say that they don't come with the originals. The CD version the only one worth getting for the originals.

I have the disks off of Virtual Apple and play the game in the ActiveGS emulator (which also does Apple ][ emulation)
And I've got setup instructions with the emulators and disks for I-III available on BTO for Apple2gs and others :)
Best first to go through official means though (BT2004, Backer site, etc) as much as possible. Support inXile.

I just got around to trying these tonight and there seem to be some missing essentials. Where is the Command Summary Card and the City Map? The manual says:
Inside the front flap of your album cover is a Command Summary Card,
which lists keystroke commands, disk utilities and step-by-step instructions
for starting up. If you are an experienced adventurer, this card gives you
most of what you need to know; the rest is covered in this section.
On the inside of your album cover is a map of Skara Brae. You'll need it.
I managed to find a command summary card for the Apple II GS on bardstaleonline.com, which I hope is the same, but I can only find low resolution copies of the map.

Is it that you're looking for a high resolution copy of the hand-drawn map of Skara Brae? Or just a detailed usable map of the city?

Question for the Mac folks out there, I assume these emulated .exe files will have to be launched under boot camp, parallels or Wine?

On a similar note: any news about whether or not the enhanced versions are going to be available for Mac, or are they all PC-only ports, as well?

Nicholas
