So I was at the prison getting ripped to pieces by the turret when I noticed the robot Findley sitting there. Went up to it and saw it's missing a part so left the prison figuring I'd come back later. I found a tank tread by Tinker figured it was the piece I needed and headed back to the prison. It was the right piece and I installed it. The text on the side said the robot is ready to roll so I clicked use and a text box popped up for Findley where it showed a bunch of lines and then said mobility systems loading please try again later. And that's it. When am I supposed to come back for Findley to move and work? I saw a YouTube video where the guy just put the tread on and was given the option for Findley to attack the turret right away. From what I read on some Web pages they made it sound like just install the tread and he's ready to rock and take out the turret. What am I missing?

It should work, but it's possible that it won't allow you to activate the robot until you're expressly given the mission to enter the Prison. Have you actually been told by Vargas to return to the Prison to take care of Danforth? That will happen automatically at a certain point.

If it still doesn't work for some reason, try talking to Job back at the farm a bit south of the main prison building. He's hiding near the back, next to some pigeon cages. He should give you an alternate way in, via the cure to the dog plague. You should then be able to talk your way in by using the PA system right next to the broken robot.

I don't remember Vargas giving me a mission to go into the prison yet. Think only prison mission was to go there to try and find the rad suit. As far as progression I made it to Damonta but didn't set up the repeater yet. I found tinker and the tread and went back to the prison right away to clear it out. I did find Jobe earlier at the farm and went back to him because of the cure but he's not offering it and no speech skills prompts are showing nor any prompts at the prison speaker system about the dogs. Jobe just tells me to kill Danforth before he sees what I did to the farm. Only prison quest I have in my logbook is from Jobe saying to kill Danforth too. Is there a prison quest later on from Vargas?

beta testers ruined this part of the game. everyone thought there was a big advantage to doing the prison first without realising its actually rail nomad you have to pre-complete to really have any game advantage(pizepi, schotchmo, VC as your main 3party members as early as possible). so they put the conversation with jobe as a 2 flag do damonta first mission before getting the cure(youre a fucking retard still jobe). so you're meant to walk up the danforth, collect the juniper berries and prep h and then go do titan and come back, but people think because you have to combat 2 groups of RSM guards, that you can't do the peacful resolution with danforth.

again, bad level design fixed with invisible deathmines and 5k damage lasers. stupid stupid stupid.

I think part of the problem was that the devs didn't want players to miss out on the "reveal" that Danforth is actually Billy from the first game. Rather than try to rework the story so that the player was less likely to burst into the Prison, guns blazing, they railroad the player into following a very specific course of events so that the reveal can play out properly.

The problem with that is that the railroad forces several horrific events to play out, such as seeing the RSM slaughter all of the people that they're supposedly protecting. This gives the player very little reason to actually make peace with the RSM, at least from a moral standpoint.

Yeah I finally got into the prison after I finished damonta. When I had first found the tread the reason I went back right away to clear it was thinking if I hold it off Danforth would kill everyone there like Jobe said after I cleared the farm. Kind of disappointing you have to wait to go back and can't save the people.

Hey all so I've checked many forums and nothing further than already covered here. First playthrough so far and I did radio tower ag center Highwood level upe and the first majority of prison. Made a huge mess of the canyon missions but defused none the less lol. Just went back (oops) for demonta and got the tread from by tink. Just returned to prison, installed tread, said loading mobility and I didn't want to lose it against turrets so I left it momentarily. Cured pups and gave Dan a talkin to. Returning from every last piece of value behind them &those walls- the Friendly-tek Tactical Systems boy is now showing ready assuming further commands of organic or inorganic. I'm assuming this will prioritize target heat signatures between life or robots. I'm saving my game here so I don't lose the other option in case it's not reprog.

Okay... I forgot to save after last post. Inorganic selection causes Droid to target both (even passive) turrets ahead and kamikaze all three to scraps.
