We are starting out with Windows only. We will examine the possibility of rolling out Mac and Linux later on, but right now those builds aren't ready for primetime. This is the same as what we did for Wasteland 2 as well.

I'm with you. I don't understand why people would want to play the beta of a story focused game, but yeah, break this game wide open for me so it might be rebuilt stronger, people.

Thats why im unsure myself.

on the one hand the feedback will help squash bugs and also potentially help for a better user experience for the people playing the finished version (through feedback) on the other hand, i dont want to play only part of the story, even worse when i play the full game idk. 8 months later and cant use my save anymore or forgot part of the story.

because if i begin the game again i will be able to play its system because i do know to some extent what will happen.

In the update there's a pretty rad screenshot of Caravanserai—does it show the entirety of the area or just a portion?

No, most of our outdoor scenes are a fair bit larger. That screenshot shows just a portion of it. Caravanserai is actually one of the smaller districts in Sagus Cliffs compared to some others.

You can still get the beta add-on for $20 if you like - check your Torment account on our web site and you will see a handy new widget showing you what you need to pledge to unlock the beta: https://torment.inxile-entertainment.com/user/private

Remember that Steam Early Access comes with access to the final game in addition to the beta content. As such, it's targeted more towards new users than our existing backers. You can always get it if you want a second early copy to Torment a friend, but for most of our backers the beta add-on directly on our web site is most appropriate.

How much is the Early Access going to be? 48$?

Just wondering if I backed 28$ and need to pay another 20$ for the beta access, for me it will only be fair if the Steam Early Access is the same price or higher.

Well anyway, good luck next week!

I think you don’t have to worry too much Zettai: inXile is smart enough to *not* give a better deal to pre-orderers than what you got as a backer ;)

What platforms will the beta be available through? Is this a Steam only or will it be through GOG as well? I had intended on redeeming my final key from my pledge on GOG, not Steam, so I'm hoping I can do the same with the beta. If that's not the case though, will redeeming the beta access on Steam lock my release key to that also?

The beta will be Steam-only. But as far as I know you can partake in the beta on Steam and still redeem the final game on GOG.
I’ll advise that you wait for an official confirmation on this point though.

We are indeed shooting for that if at all possible, but haven't yet got the final details set up on that front.

Oh, just saw that the total amount collected in pledges went above $5 millions, just before the beta/early access is opened ! Congratulations everyone :)

Any special celebration for the $5 millions line in sight ? ;)
