A lot of the time if a bug is reproducible it's probably worth giving a visual representation of it. Below are some tools which will allow you to capture the game screen and ensure the video is of a reasonable size to submit on a bug report:

For Recording:

FRAPS is about as good as it gets, has a free trial, remember to turn off the FPS overlay, your FPS is unimportant (unless you're submitting an FPS killing bug I guess). Set your video to Half Size if you're running anywhere about 720p, don't worry it should still be clear, I've checked.

(Note I *think* that the fraps trial limits videos to 30 seconds but will continue recording (it splits into multiple files) in which case you can combine them with AVIJoiner (note: several commercial products share a name with this tool, there are a whole bunch of tools that will do this):

For Conversion:

Handbrake's default settings will take 30 seconds of half size AVI from FRAPS and turn it into about 1 megabyte of mp4, which is still clear enough to see specific details on screen

I use AppGeeker video converter to handle my videos every time, which is great, relatively fast.

It has pre-set settings so I don't change anything other than file output type.

That's a good idea. flv, swf are small size format. you can choose to convert your video to flv for submitting on a bug report. You can try the video tool from Firecoresoft to convert your vidoe to flv.

I use aiseesoft to handle my videos. For conversion, I use wondershare which is fast and precise with no quality loss. And it enables you change avi to mpg or mp4.
