It seems I can interact blindly with the world, as moving the cursor around makes beeps and clicks, and sometimes it even changes shape to a crosshair. Yet the world is never displayed. The game is unplayable.

After character creation, and difficulty setting, when clicking 'Play', game loads, and then gets stuck on the loading screen with the team screenshots.
It seems I can interact blindly with the world, as moving the cursor around makes beeps and clicks, and sometimes it even changes shape to a crosshair. Yet the world is never displayed. The game is unplayable.
Help?

We've recently tested the Director's Cut through both GOG and Steam on Mac's Monterey OS, which should be a free upgrade from Big Sur. If you are still having issues with the game on the Big Sur OS, I encourage you to look into upgrading when you're able to.
