Physical copy redemption on GOG?

Post by Koliva » March 28th, 2017, 3:08 am

Is the key that came with the physical Collector's Edition exchangeable for a GOG key? I have already redeemed my digital copy on Steam and it would be nice to have the GOG version as well.

(Same goes for the DLC key.)

I think your best bet would be to send an e-mail to inXile support about it, and be a little patient as I’m quite sure they’re pretty busy right now ;)

The copy that comes with your box is a Steam version, but we may be able to help you out. Get in touch here: https://inxile-entertainment.com/support

Are you actually hinting it might be possible to convert that Steam-Key to a GOG-key? This would be a HUUUUUUGE upgrade...
...if you say yes, I´d go for it in the coming days as well.

Hello and thanks for that reply, I was wondering the same. What about the DLC code included in the box: is that the backer outfits or the Immortal Edition upgrade?

While we're here, if you could tell me what activating the Alpha Test Steam key at this point in time would do that would be great! Has it been updated to the full version of the game or would it simply not activate anything?

Thanks!!

They did help me out with this. I sent them my unused Steam key, they deactivated it and replaced it with a GOG key.

Sweet! Did you send them both keys? There's a "DLC" key on the cardboard in addition to the game key.

You mean to say that after all the criticism received after doing this for the physical copy of Wasteland 2, InXile have repeated the same mistake with Torment? The mind boggles.

And the replacement "DRM-free" disk for Wasteland 2 was a waste of effort too - compressed using a 64-bit program (so not usable on 32-bit Windows) and relying on a DOS batch file for Linux or Mac installation.
