Batch 3 - Threshing clawer

Post by CougarJo » January 31st, 2013, 7:20 am

Hi :) Here is my submission for the batch 3!

It's an old Threshing clawer, who lost pieces and brightness of his past chrome fairing.
Someone has added armor plates to his front, making him difficult to destroy in case of frontal attack.
You'd better run for your lives, or you'll get run over...Or worse!

It was a fun challenge :D

Looks great :) But I can't help but also see the robots from New Vegas too :P (Not necessarily a bad thing, just kind of funny to me)

Honestly though, yours looks like a more mature, cooler version. So good work!

Thanks for the kinds words! The original Thresher got a big 50's style. I like that, but for wasteland 2, I tried to make a ''Badass'' thresher (borderlands fan here :lol: ).

Looks really nice with metal-like metal. :-)
One objection is that the part that sticks out from the wheels and attaches them to the body is a bit thin.
Also, I would like bigger images to look at.

Be that as it may, he still looks pretty damn sleek. It feels a little out of place, but not too much so. I like it.

Hmmm... a second texture with dirt splatters on it would look better. :)

Ya know- always rollin around with those big tires would probably throw a heckload of dirt on his main body. ;)

I guess it´d be distributed like this:

Back (+++ amount of dirt)
Underside of arms (++ a.o.d.)
Front (+ a.o.d.)

I agree with you, it would!

In fact, there is a little layer of dust/dirt. But seeing the model with the distance from the camera, it seemed really blurry with more dirt/dust and detail of metal.

So I decided to make a more neutral texture, that can fit to different environment.
