One thing to point out, it wouldn't be an acceptable solution for those of us who aren't using Steam. So hopefully inXile can resolve this properly and update the game on GOG.

Every time I try to embrace GOG, something like this happens... too many games I have on there just never get the updates Steam gets... sad

GOG is a different beast than Steam. inXile is doing what they can. Sometimes, it's just GOG.

Re: The Bard's Tale (2004) Updated on Steam
Yah, some clarification on that, please. Are you just referring to technicalities, like how games are submitted and updated on Steam vs GOG? Showing your preference for one store over the other? Or are you saying you sent the game to GOG and they haven't made it available yet? Your statement was really vague.

Re: The Bard's Tale (2004) Updated on Steam
From what inXile has said, it's often a bit of a trial to get GOG to update through the offline route. Patches to be applied through Galaxy work fine, it's just getting them to push patches for people to download manually that can take time.

Re: The Bard's Tale (2004) Updated on Steam
That can be, but I don't think the Galaxy version for the game ever received the update either. So until now, I thought inXile were the cause for the delay. I can double check that with my GOG contacts (I'm not using Galaxy). Besides, the Linux version only has the classic (non Galaxy) release on GOG, since they didn't release Galaxy for Linux to begin with.

Re: The Bard's Tale (2004) Updated on Steam
I only use Galaxy and the game has never gotten an update... I have so many games where Galaxy will get game updates the same day as Steam while the backup installers take days longer, so that’s why I find this stuff frustrating that it would take so long to get the update to Galaxy users at the very least.

This means it's not a bottleneck of GOG's side at least.

What adds salt to the wound on this one, I just found the DRM-free Remastered version in the Humble Trove! Why can't you just take that DRM-free version and send it to GOG so they can update theirs?

Re: The Bard's Tale (2004) Updated on Steam
Interesting. Indeed, if they already released it in other DRM-free store, why are GOG users getting the short end of the stick?

For some reason in the actual store, it's not DRM-free: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-bards-tale

Yah, kinda weird, but... this was from the Trove section which is solely for DRM-free games that are included with a Humble Monthly subscriptionshmerl wrote: ↑September 27th, 2018, 4:07 pmFor some reason in the actual store, it's not DRM-free: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-bards-tale

Re: The Bard's Tale (2004) Updated on Steam
I see inXile is now on GOG's dev portal / build system... BTIV in Galaxy got updated the same day as Steam (YES!)... so it should be an easy thing to put that Humble Trove update of the original Bard's Tale on GOG now?!! I'd like to see it at some point in my lifetime

It would be so dang simple for them to just take the build on the Humble Store and send it to GOG

May be write to their contact e-mail? I really don't get what the problem they have with doing it. @phimseto mentioned some "business reasons" before:
What does it even mean?
