Road War 2000

Post by Danest » September 15th, 2017, 8:59 am

I'd love to see a remake of road war 2000. Turn-based combat with vehicles. Accelerating, braking and turning were not instantaneous -- if you were going really fast, you could only slow down so much in one turn, and only turn so sharply. Added an extra level of tactics I think.

Edit: I originally typoed it as road warrior.

Could be fun to have a turn based vehicular combat game; where actions things like lane/position changing, handguns, mounted weapons, road hazard avoidance...etc. All while everything on the road flies by at 90mph.

That might make it difficult to have a full-fledged tactical battle map with a fleet of trucks and cars. I'd be fine with just a modern-looking, less clunky, better written version of the original.

God DAMN yes.

I never actually played Road War 2000. But I did play Roadwar Europa. I used to play it for hours. Conquering towns here and there. I eventually worked out that there was an actual mission you were supposed to complete, but I mostly just enjoyed the idea of taking over a town and the general searching and discovery.
It's not too late. Make it Eight!
