I genuinely liked that low-key vibe in Dragon Age 2.Drool wrote: ↑September 28th, 2018, 5:51 pm So I finished Dragon Age 2.
My general reaction was, "wait, that's it?"
I enjoyed it well enough, but it doesn't feel complete. Or rather, it feels like an anthology. Or a short story collection. It's like "Three Stories of Hawke" as opposed to a unified game. And the stakes felt shockingly low. I mean, big for Kirkwall, sure, but somewhat minor on the grand scale. Especially the endgame.
It almost feels like a 40 hour prelude to some other game.

Picked up Subnautica from Epic for free, finally got around to playing it.
Holy shit its a great game. Incredibly atmospheric, interesting and engaging.
Had a couple of "oh shit its 1 in the morning" nights over the last week

Vaporium. It's decent so far; aside from the writing and voice work.
I do expect to play through to the end.

Lately, Dungeons of Dredmor. Like most roguelikes, there's a bit of a learning curve.

Re: What'cha Playing?
The character sheet put me off for awhile, but I found myself with small windows of time to kill that were none-the-less frequently interrupted. A turn-based roguelike fit the bill nicely.

Re: What'cha Playing?
Well after you mentioned it, I fired it back up and was doing the same. Had some processes I was working on. Mindless button clicking mostly, but some of the parts would take a few minutes to load, and a couple of sections were in the 10 to 15 minute delay realm... So fitted nicely with it.
Mouse movement is annoying, but so much easier to avoid traps, and their lovely snippets of XP.
I also don't remember there being a female character option last time I played.

So I am STILL playing subnautica. It really is one of the best games I have played in a long while.

I don't know... I feel it was just as good as Inquisition.Drool wrote: ↑September 28th, 2018, 5:51 pm So I finished Dragon Age 2.

The latter was bloated with unnecessary content, a shorter main story, few main quests. Not a bad game by any means buuuuut... I don't know.
At least DA2's idea is fine. Not every game needs to be about saving the world.
I myself am playing Resident Evil 4 for the very first time.
I'm five hours in so far. I love the gameplay and the graphics, and oh it's so good to play as Leon Scott Kennedy once more.
As for the story ? Well, I'll let you know once I find it in this game.

True. Just seemed awfully mundane after the first.Highwayman667 wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2019, 4:54 pm At least DA2's idea is fine. Not every game needs to be about saving the world.

Enderal - a Skyrim complete conversion mod.
Waaaaay better than anything Bethesda has done since Morrowind. Interesting story, no fetch quests, rememberable NPCs... that is how you do an RPG.
It is free if you have Oldrim, available in German in English. Give it try folks, really.

Civ 6 with the new exapansion... Storms, floods, Volcanoes and the like. Climate change as well.
Has some interesting additions.
Also had a quick play of subnautica in VR. That was pretty cool, though the controls took a little getting used to. Not sure if that is a VR thing or a Subnautica thing. Still it was super cool swimming around completely immersed(literally and figuratively B-) ) in that game.

Re: What'cha Playing?
Pathfinder: Kingmaker...
And its good. Has some issues but overall is a really enjoyable game. I actually really like the combination of Roleplay and Kingdom building.
Its pretty funny though, I made it to level 9 and only now finally realised that some characters had to learn spells over night
I mean just a fundamental D&D element for EVER, and I didn't even think about it. Mostly because some classes get spells naturally, combined with the one pure spellcaster(amongst 5 or 6) I have found is a rogue/Wizard so her initial block of spells was lower, and most characters start with certain spells already mapped, plus I had plenty of wands etc.
Such a facepalm moment when I realised though....

Re: What'cha Playing?
"Played" the VN "Acting lessons", what an emotional rollercoaster. It's funny, serious, even dark sometimes and yes to no small part porn. But this game could also do without any porn and would still be great. The chars are well written , hell they are better than most NPCs in modern RPGs BY MILES. There are many choices and consequences - little actual gameplay though - of course, it is a VN after all.
Check the reviews on Steam to get a better picture.
And if you start playing, don't let yourself be fooled by the first 1 or 2 hours. This game will kick you in the balls toward the end BIG TIME.

Re: What'cha Playing?
I Played Dishonored 2 multiple times recently. There are so many different ways to play this game and double that as you can choose to be 2 different main characters with their own little differences.
The 'Shadow' and 'Clean Hands' Steam achievements for playing stealth was really fun. You can also play a murderous revenge bent role for the 'Empire in Chaos' achievement. Very fun game over all.

Just finished Horizon: Zero Dawn and Detroit: Become Human (that Playstation sale a few weeks back got me). I enjoyed them.
