I didn't have a computer when the original came out. I had only played Pong and some of the early home console games at that time. I didn't get a PC until about 1995. I have been a fanatic PC gamer ever since. I have went back and played the first two Fallout games, but had not heard of Wasteland until I read the article in Game Informer about the startup project. I immediately went online and made a donation. Also I started looking for a copy of the original. I was happy to see that inXile will be providing a copy to the people who donated. I greatly anticipate playing both the original and the sequel.

I played WL on an illegally imported Apple IIe (at least Apple said it was illegal..... ;) ) from Singapore. The color card didn't always work (and I couldn't afford to replace it), so the main color of most games was green (I don't remember if it was the blue or red that became green).

I remember playing Wasteland on my C64. The game cost me over £150 back in the late 80s (That's about what, £250 now?)...

Why so much? Well I had to buy the C64 Hard drive to play it and a m8 sold me his for £130 and the local shop was selling the game for about £20. Worth every penny...

I loved the game and played it to death.

Really looking forward to playing it again (coming on get it released now please!!!) :)...

I actually still have the Apple ][e as well. It was all packed up in a box with my old games. I was thinking of pulling it out to see if I could still run Wasteland on it.

I originally played on the c64. My long since ex-husband had originally bought it for himself and made it to Quartz before deciding the combat 'wasn't realistic enough'. He was spoiled by tabletop games like Aftermath, and I think he thought Wasteland was more like it. I took over playing, and loved it. Also have played on my laptop since then.

I still have my 5.25s. I doubt they run, though the bigger doubt is finding a drive that could read them. Fortunately, I have the 10th Anniversary CD (which I bought when it was release and since then the CD contents are on HDDs in triplicate, along with other stuff I tend to back up).

I think I played it on a Tandy 1000... But I'm not sure. For some reason childhood is super foggy... I might be overshooting in how far back I'm thinking. I know the first computer I had was a CoCo3, and then I think we had the Tandy... Though it could have been played on whatever the third computer ended up being...

I pulled my disks out the other day just for the heck of it. And they still worked. Suprising how long some of this stuff can last.

On an 80286 (IBM PC/AT compatible) from 1984. Glorious 16-color EGA graphics and internal speaker bleeps and bloops.

I have one; On a Tandy 1000 Ex. 8-)

The best kind ~though the most fragile, were the combo floppy drives that served as drive A & B, and took 5¼ and 3½ disks.

If you are ever interested, Ebay is full of them. There is also a USB 5¼ floppy drive controller, that will read the older media. http://shop.deviceside.com/prod/FC5025

It's a shame the board is only able to read data; had it been made able to write, then the desperate user could employ disk utilities to salvage unreadable data.

I first played it on my friend's C64, and enjoyed it so much, I bought a copy for my PC (XT 4.7 MHz, EGA). I also used to transport the game files on disks so I could play it on the office 286 before work and during lunchbreak. My brother worked for a major games distributor at the time (still does, actually) so I was able to buy the games at wholesale.

Oh, I disconnected the speaker on both machines!
