Just to update - we'll be talking about it later this summer. Looking forward to finally being able to show it.
Any chance we could get a look at one of the animated portraits?

Edited:
—//—But this is a jpeg; IE. it's not animated. :?—//— update: Sorry about the mistake, it's a video in a script dependent pop-up player. :?

(It's nice work though)

It isn't for me. This is the URL I have:
https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video_thumb ... .jpg:small

Edit:
That's not an animated gif, that's an MP4, and I had to disable all kinds of browser security to access it. It comes up in some pop-up video player.

But the animation is okay. ;) : https://video.twimg.com/tweet_video/EFfKll0WsAASQza.mp4

Yes. The preview image is a jpg.

And no, you didn't need to "disable all kinds of browser security", you just had to allow a couple scripts. I was able to load it perfectly fine in Brave, while loading zero ads, zero trackers, zero fingerprints, zero 3rd party cookies, and forcing HTTPS. Twitter uses a total of 16 scripts, the majority of which are for their (admittedly awful) layout and UI.

Also, it's freaking Twitter, not ~~~t H e D a R k W e B~~~

That's plenty too many for viewing an animated gif; but it matters not. Twitter is one of the last sites I'd enable scripting on.

The point is this: Twitter detects a lack of scripting, and prompts the user for permission to access their legacy site instead; this is good. What's bad is that one doesn't expect to need scripting to view an animated gif, and it gives no clues that it's made a switch. The file Twitter links to is a jpeg—unless you have scripting available. There is no hint that the viewer is not seeing an animation—and no reason assume there was one...it's a jpeg. :|

Looks pretty good! I noticed that this (originally) is a portrait of Cherry Bomb from Wasteland 2; could we expect to see more character portraits from WL2 in the remaster?

I'd much rather see a full remake. Right now it looks like a shareware game from the 90s. The game deserves better.
No point in a remaster of Wasteland 1 if it is not Wasteland 1. Compare the original Bard's Tale games to the remastered trilogy. That's about what we should expect from a Wasteland 1 remaster, IMHO. Prettied up, and some of the rough edges of the game experience smoothed out because many of them were based on tech limitations rather than well thought out design decisions, but still fundamentally the same game.

If I wanted to play a modern game set in the Wasteland world, I'd play Wasteland 2 or Wasteland 3. The remaster of Wasteland 1 is for when I want to play a game that is, fundamentally, still the original.
This year, I resolve to work harder. . . because it's obvious the world is not going to end itself.
