Has anyone figured out how to open this safe?

It remains at 0% even with rank 10 safecracking, and there is no option to hack the computer. I've also tried quite a number of text commands on the computer without any result.

You need to insert ''Vault7'' code to open It

inside is:1 power armor,1 vault blue uniform[refference to fallout 2] and snake gang knife [refference to fallout 3]

How did someone figure that out? I mean is there a clue somewhere?

I don't recall having the option to type anything in in the first place.
Not saying he is, but be aware that someone might as well be trolling.

Ok figured it out, I will give a couple of level of hints before the reveal, for those that don't want to know it all right off the bat. This isn't a spoiler, but you should know that you can always type random text in the black box in a conversation. So the solution starts with the text...

HINT 1: It is a movie reference

HINT 2: Let's play Global Thermonuclear War.

HINT 3: It is about the movie WarGames

SOLUTION PART 1: type Joshua when talking to the computer

SOLUTION PART 2: Answer No

Nah it doesn't say that, but I thought it would be a nice hint. :)

So wait, you typed it in because it's a computer hooked up to a nuclear missile? I watched War Games last night and didn't see the direct reference.

Seriously?

What is the password David uses on the computer, which is Dr. Falken's dead son's name?

You should watch it again as a penance

No, I mean the text from the computer at Silo 7 didn't match anything from War Games. No common name, reference, dialog, text, imagery.

It's not even the same situation, console with only two buttons to direct maintenance trains at a missile silo vs a strategic planning AI in some distant bunker. The only things in common would be nuclear weapon and some kind of computer was involved. Since it's a 60 year old (at the time of the apocalypse) computer and missile a Dr. Strangelove reference would have been much more likely.

That's pretty crazy. Loaded up a save game just to see it. .. Didn't even realize you could type stuff. I sat there for a bit saying "type what where?" thinking that a number pad would pop up on the safe or something. Remember those really thick little manuals that came with the old school rpg's? I really feel I would have benefited with one of those for this game.

The safe seems to contain WOPR Blaster ( poor energy weapon ) now and some ammo.

Never would have guessed that password, but the loot is pretty anticlimactic. A joke compared to gamma-ray and its on par or weaker as the cannon-whatsitsname that started dropping in Darwin/Jail
